Between noon and 1:00 p.m. on WBEZ (91.5 FM), the Wetlands Initiative's senior ecologist Dr. Gary Sullivan gave a live 15-minute interview on June 27 about wetlands and flooding with Worldview host Jerome McDonnell.
Mark Maffei, a TWI board member, also joined the program to give his perspective on wetland issues. Dr. Maffei has had a distinguished career as a wildlife biologist in the Everglades, having served with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service.
Kate Sackman of EcoMyths joined Jerome McDonnell in interviewing Drs. Sullivan and Maffei; EcoMyths has a monthly segment on Worldview. EcoMyths focuses on busting environmental "myths" to provide people with accurate information on being green. Read the most recent EcoMyths article here on the mistaken belief that wetlands cause more flooding.
Worldview is a long-running global affairs program broadcast on NPR every weekday, featuring in-depth conversations about international issues and their local impact.
