Join the Wetlands Initiative and the Chicago Park District for a volunteer brush cutting event at Square Marsh, which TWI is restoring in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the Illinois International Port District, in celebration of Earth Day! We’ll meet at the Big Marsh North Parking Lot and then car-pool walk across S Stony Island Ave to Square Marsh to help remove invasive buckthorn trees.
Gloves and tools, as well as water and light snacks, will be provided. Port-a-potties will also be available.
Parking will be available at the Big Marsh North parking lot. Overflow parking will be along S Stony Island Avenue, where traffic cones and Natural Areas vehicles will be stationed for pedestrian safety and parking.
For questions or concerns, please contact Marwah Saleh at 646-309-9483 or email msaleh@wetlands-initiatives.org. Please register if you plan to attend. We hope to see you there!
